Search results


Docuseek2 provides several options for navigating your search results. Below is a quick start to the main features of the search results page.

Tip: By default, Docuseek2 shows pages of search results, with 20 titles per page. You may change the number of titles shown on each page. You may also view all of the results on one page by clicking the Show results on one page checkbox. To make this your default setting, visit the My Account page and update your default settings.

Note: If your search finds only one title, you will be taken directly to the film page.

Tip: Searching by keyword calculates a "relevance score" based on how relevant Docuseek2 thinks a film description and other information is to your keyword. If searching by keyword, and Docuseek2 adds a relevance sort option for your results.

Tip: Click the triangle next to the sort options to change the direction of the sorted results (ascending or descending order).

Sending search results to colleagues

Docuseek2 provides a mechanism for administrators to send search results to colleagues. This is an easy way to promote your Docuseek2 streaming video to users at your institution. You must be an administrator and logged in to your account to use this tool. Look for the "Email results" button at the top right of the search results page. Click the button to open a form where you can supple a list of email addresses, a subject, and an accompanying message. Enter the captcha phrase and click Send. Note:

  • you can only send email to email addresses with the same domain as yours.
  • separate email addresses with a comma to send multiple emails.
  • emails are sent as HTML. The HTML is similar to the search results listing.
  • your name and email address as it appears in your account information will appear as the From: address.

Saving searches

You can save searches, and share them via Twitter or Facebook. Saved searches are give a permanent link. Saved searches are created via a button on the search results page. You must give the search a name that is unique for your saved searches (a search with the same name will be overwritten).

Saved searches may also be shared from the Search Results page. Saved searches will show in a new dropdown menu on the Advanced Search options page. Selecting a saved search from the dropdown will execute the search. Note that you must be logged in to save searches and to see the Saved searches dropdown. You do not have to be logged in to tweet searches or share them to Facebook.

 


Saved searches are listed on the My Account page, on a new Searches tab. You must be logged in to view the My Account page. Searches may be launched from the saved search list, and deleted as well. You may also retrieve the URL for the search from the saved search list.

To modify a saved search, create the new search, and save the search using the same name.

While you can’t email a saved search directly from Docuseek2, the URL for the search can be retrieved from the My Account page, and can be copied and pasted into an email. The URL for the saved search will also be displayed when you save the search
